Playing in front of a home crowd the Eagles won 17.15 (117) to 11.7 (73).
The home side jumped the Rats early but was unable to make the most of its scoring opportunities.
After a quarter of play the Eagles led by 14 points despite have four times as many scoring shots. While the Rats managed three goals straight, Warrack registered four goals and eight behinds.
When the side straightened up in the second quarter, the home side was able to apply much more scoreboard pressure. The Rats had trouble even getting the ball forward in order to score just two-points and trial by 44 at the break.
A better effort from the away-side came in the second half. It marginally won the third quarter and did not allow the half-time break to blow out by the end of the game.
