Penhurst held the Ararat side scoreless for two separate quarters on the way to a commanding 11.12 (78) to 3.8 (26) win. Difficult conditions made it hard for both sides to score to one end of Alexandra Oval but a 40-0 deficit at quarter-time was a tough to come back from for Ararat. Tulloch Maxwell, Andrew Beckwith and Zach Jenkins were named best players for Ararat.
Great Western v Tatyoon
AFTER jumping the defending premiers in the first quarter Great Western could not go on with it in round six.
Tatyoon have been inconsistent at the start of its premiership defence but eventually came away with the 16.19 (115) to 6.11 (47) win. It was the Lions that started strongest as the side opened up a 13-point lead at quarter-time. It was different from that point as the Hawks piled on 10 goals and six behind in the second quarter to lead 75-28 at half time before going on to win.
