The centre has introduced Preva, a networked fitness solution that is able to adapt to the different needs and preferences of exercisers.
Centre’s Jake Carr said members could sign in to the new touchscreen cardio equipment, which recognised their preferences and favourite workout programs.
“It also allows users to set achievable weekly exercise goals and then saves all their workout data, so they can track their progress,” he said.
“They can set fitness goals, track progress, win achievement badges, and save their favourite workouts via the cloud, no matter where they are. “
Mr Carr said Preva would help people achieve their goals.
“It’s been proven that setting goals and tracking progress improves motivation, and increases the likelihood that a goal will be achieved,” he said.
“We are excited to be offering our members a new way to stay motivated and realise their fitness targets.”
People can also download the Preva mobile app, so they can log exercise data outside of the gym.
Mr Carr said the cardio equipment also reduced boredom, giving people the chance to watch television and browse the internet.
“So members can now watch Youtube videos, check emails or catch up with Facebook while working out – just like having an iPad on your treadmill,” he said.
“We think it’s important to offer our members the very latest and best technology in our gyms.
“We’ve seen an explosion in the number of people using apps to track their progress, and wanting to stay connected through their smart phones and tablets, so thought we’d stay a step ahead of the trends by incorporating it into the in-club experience for everyone.”
