School principal Jim O’Brien said pupils studied needs and wants, demand and supply, workforce arrangements and advertising throughout the school term.
“Putting these skills into action, the students have worked in groups to design and create products, learn about budgeting and expenditure, generate purchase orders and target their market buyers through advertising,” he said.
The mini market students will also create profit and loss statements to see how successful their venture had been.
“Putting curriculum into action in this way allows our students to display their creativity and enhance their skills in working as a team,” Mr O’Brien said.
All the money raised from Stawell West Primary’s June mini market will go towards funding the school’s pupils’ participation in the 2017 Energy Breakthrough Challenge.
