In a narrow two-point lead the Saints grabbed four points, pushing them into sixth place with Pimpinio now behind in seventh.
The final score was 41 to 39.
Leading in the first quarter, the Saints scored 10-7.
Edenhope-Apsley coach Leonie Lang said they struggled in attack.
“Defensive was strong again this week, but we struggled in the first half to get goals in,” she said.
At half-time Edenhope-Apsley finished with a five-point lead, 24-15.
Lang said near the end of the second quarter their goal attack, Monica Van Dyk injured her knee.
“Last year she was out with a knee reconstruction and we are hoping this one is not too bad,” she said.
Rebecca Carter was moved from goal shooter to goal attack with Alex Lang filling in as goal shooter.
Elyssa Hausler was brought off the bench as wing attack.
”We only had one bench, which was an under 15, Elyssa Haulser who played her first game in seniors and A-grade,” she said.
Third quarter finished with Edenhope-Apsley in front 32 to 28.
Lang said during the final quarter they played one player down.
“In the start of the last quarter our goal-defence, Rachael Elmslie, went down with an injured her ankle, so we had to play with only six players,” she said.
Pimpinio grabbed a lead for a brief period during the final quarter.
Alex Lang was moved from goal shooter to goal defence and wing defence, Tiffany Cardnell filling in the goal shooter position.
Lang said the girls played a good and strong game throughout.
“Tiffany stepped up in the last quarter for the goalie and Oliva as centre played hard throughout the game,” she said.
“Pimpinio played well, they always do but the injuries did affect the goals.”
Best players for Edenhope-Apsley were centre, Oliva Crabtree and goal defence, Rachael Elmslie.
Jenelle Baker in goal attack took out best player for Pimpinio.
In round 10, Edenhope-Apsley will challenge fourth-place Southern Mallee Giants.
“We will be a couple players out next week, but we will hopefully have the Van Dyk girls home,” she said.
“We are getting the ball in the circle quite well, but we are struggle to get the goals in.”
Pimpinio will travel to Rupanyup to face the Panthers.
