Hindmarsh Shire mayor Debra Nelson said she encouraged families to take advantage of the unique entertainment.
“The school holidays are a great time to try things that you don’t normally have access to or time to enjoy during the school term,” she said.
Basketball enthusiasts can sign up for a two-day basketball camp starting on Tuesday at the Horsham Basketball Stadium.
At the Jeparit Town Hall families can enjoy a free movie screening of the ‘The BFG’ on Thursday.
The Nhill Cinema will host its first move marathon on July 14, screening family favourites 'Cars 3’ and ‘Despicable Me 3.’
Children with a passion for street art can created a masterpiece on July 13 at the graffiti art spray painting workshop at Rainbow.
On July 10, Dimboola Health and Fitness Centre has invited teenagers to dance along with Zumba.
Horsham Plaza manager Alison Roberts said during the first week of the holidays children could make a kaleidoscope and in the second week they could decorate a construction hat.
“Often we have grandparents bring their grandchildren and its a nice little activity for them to do together,” she said.
Both activities are from 11.00am to 3.00pm on Monday to Friday.
The Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly have arranged sporting clubs to run one-hour sessions.
Event organiser Matthew Jolly said it was a great opportunity for young kids to stay active and try sports they might not have tried before.
The sports sessions include hockey, volleyball, netball, squash, table tennis and ten-pin bowling.
Horsham Town Hall has partnered with the Horsham Regional Art Gallery to offer a variety of fun activities for all interests.
On Thursday, ‘Ghost Jam’, the live children’s theater show will perform followed by a ghost telling and drum workshop.
Other creative activities for children include ‘Pimp my Kicks’ on Tuesday and ‘Bling my Bag’ on Thursday.
The Wimmera Regional Library Corporation has a packed schedule of creative activities.
Children can learn about Victoria’s gold rush period at Horsham Library with craft sessions on Tuesday and Thursdays at 10.30am.
The libraries in Birchip, Stawell, Kaniva, St Arnaud and Warracknabeal will also host school holiday sessions next week.
