President Adrian Bibby made the announcement at a club function on Tuesday of last week.
“We were rapt to be able to re-sign the two of them for next season,” he said.
“It’s something we have been working toward since the first bounce this season.
“The two of them just work so well together and are great communicators leading the team in the right direction.”
The club’s senior side has continued to show improvement this season and sits third on the ladder after 10 rounds.
It will be McKenzie’s third season as senior coach of the club after he guided it back to finals in his first season at the helm in 2016.
“It’s good from the club to show that confidence in Shannon and myself and the direction we are looking to take things,” McKenzie said.
“To get this done early so that it is out of the way is huge.
“It means we can start talking to players sooner and we can look at locking in our current group of players so that they are all with us next season as well.”
The Eagles are proving to be a genuine contender this season.
Bibby said the club was really happy with how things are progressing on and off the field.
“We continue to see improvement each week,” he said.
“Even though he is out at the moment Shannon continues to provide strong leadership around the group.
“All the boys have so much respect for them and the best part of it all is how they work together.”
