The multi-purpose early years care and education centre will incorporate kindergarten, long day care, maternal and child health, playgroup and a toy library.
There will also be pavers with names and hand-drawn images on the footpath outside the centre from people who contributed to the centre’s fundraising campaign, Pledge a Paver.
The centre is at Nhill College.
Hindmarsh mayor Debra Nelson said council was tentatively looking at an official opening on July 28.
“However the politicians won’t lock that in yet,” she said.
