Publicity officer Sonia Matthews said it was exceptional to see the festival grow each year.
“To celebrate 30 years we have new exhibitors and a focus on making a perfect day for family-outings,” she said.
For the first time, Horsham Urban Landcare will offer an array of children activities.
“It’s important for kids to get involved with gardening because they’re the next generation,” Ms Matthews said.
“One activity will include children making homes for native bees.”
Ms Matthews said there would be competitions, with senior and junior categories.
“People can enter their hanging basket arrangements or pots of succulents,” she said.
Ms Matthews said two guest speakers were arranged for the festival.
“We have ABC radio presenter Dennis Crawford, who is an author that specialises in bugs and insects,” she said.
“The other speaker in channel nine Garden Guru’s Melissa King, who has spoken at international gardening events in Chelsea and Ellerslie. She was also a public speaker at the Melbourne International Garden Show.”
Ms Matthews said Wimmera traders had donated prizes for a spinning wheel competition.
A Horsham Rotary Club sub-committee will host the festival, which will run on October 14 and 15.
Ms Matthews said anyone interested in joining the committee could call her on 0425 761 410.
