The Saints had won the previous encounter against the Navy Blues in round six of the North Central league.
Buoyed by a strong performance last round, the team was looking to break through for their second win of the season.
The Saints trailed by just 20 points at halftime but an eight-goals-to-five third term from the Navy Blues gave the visitors the advantage.
The Saints kept the Navy Blues to two points in the final term, bagging three majors, but the score proved too much to chase – the Saints eventually falling short by 18 points at the final siren.
Jacob Tillig and Daniel London were the Saints’ best while for the Navy Blues, Aaron Walklate and Tom Finlay worked hard.
A split round 13 meant there were only two games played at the weekend.
In the other encounter, Sea-Lake Nandaly Tigers defeated Wedderburn, notching a 28-point victory at Sea Lake.
