Accommodation/campus tours are available all day (10am – 3pm).
Current Longy students will take prospective students and their families for a walking tour of the campus, which will include the recently upgraded accommodation and training areas, as well as displays featuring examples of the students’ work.
The show steer parade will be held at 11.30am and 2.30pm, where students will be parading the 2017 Longerenong College Show Steer Team in preparation for the Royal Melbourne Show.
The college prides itself on producing graduates who have practical skills to support the theory-based study. Longy graduates hit the ground running.
The two-year agriculture courses, the Advanced Diploma of Agriculture and Diploma of Agronomy, prepare graduates for a range of careers, particularly in livestock, agronomy, farm management and agribusiness.
“The dual course suits anyone wanting a career as an agronomist. The course provided a good blend of theory and practical elements which worked well,” former student Erin Johns said.
The Certificate IV in Agriculture course prepares graduates to work on farms and is suited to students who have completed year 11.
Anyone interested in a career in agriculture should come to the open day or call Donna on 03 5362 2222.
