The hub’s goal, with a working title 12Twentyfive, is aiming to provide a safe, creative and innovative space for people aged 12 to 25 to spend time, explore new skills and be part of the community.
Ararat student Jack Ward said he was interested in using the youth hub as a casual work space where he can work on his writing or other creative projects.
“Ararat is a good place, but it needs more accessibility to programs aimed at young people,” he said.
The hub’s building between Ararat College and Federation University Australia and CGLLEN on Laby Street.
The youth hub needs money to complete renovations and repairs. Creating welcoming space for young people will require additional funds.
Donations can be made through the GoFundMe site at www.gofundme.com/12twentyfive.
Organisers said people could contact Central Grampians LLEN for more information.
