Brock really does enjoy his football, training two nights a week and also with the senior group.
A natural leader, Brock enjoys the company of others and out on the football field lets his skills do the talking. His ability to encourage and direct others in a positive way helps the entire team reach their goals on match day.
Swifts Under 17 player Drew Smith is the worthy recipient of round 11’s Spirit of Netball Award.
Drew is an important part of the side this year, showing great leadership on and off the court. Drew helps out around the club and is always willing to put up her hand to umpire.
Drew is a versatile player who can play all positions on the court if needed but has stood strong in defence this year.
Drew is always at training, striving to improve her game and is focused on being the best teammate she can be. She is a real team player and this is evident in her success.
WFL
The round 10 winner of the Spirit of Football Award for the Wimmera Football League is Warrack Eagles footballer Connor Inkster.
Connor has graduated right through the football ranks from Auskick and is now a respected Under 17s player with the Eagles. He is a versatile player who is trusted by his coaches in any area of the ground. Connor really enjoys his footy and likes nothing more than kicking a goal!
Connor is completing year 11 at school, barracks for Essendon and also enjoys basketball and water skiing.
Now in his last season of Under 17s, Connor has also proven capable at reserves footy and is a valued prospect for the future of the Eagles.
WNA
The Round 10 winner of the Wimmera League Spirit of Netball award is Dimboola’s Emma Griffiths.
Emma has been an absolute delight for her coaches to work with this season. She is a positive role model and leader for all of the Dimboola 17 and under girls, as evidenced when they elected her as captain for 2017. Emma is a focused player and knows what she has to do to shut down the opposition's attack when on court. Emma gives 100 per cent at all times, whether at training or on game day.
Emma's favourite position is goalkeeper and you can see this as she takes intercept after intercept in the last line of defence. She is a clean, versatile and determined player. Emma is courageous and also accepts defeat well and often can be heard having a giggle on the court.
