Teacher Michelle Sonego said the children decorated terracotta pots and planted flowers into them.
“All the supplies were donated by Bunnings and the kids got involved and really enjoyed the activity,” she said.
Ms Sonego said before the activity began they explained the importance of Schools Tree Day.
“It was great to see that most kids knew the importance of trees and why we need to replant them,” she said.
Bunnings Horsham complex manager Campbell Ballinger said the team enjoyed visiting local schools each year to help plant greenery and show students that gardening can be fun.
“Schools Tree Day is an important initiative that we enjoy supporting by teaming up with students to get planting and learn more about the environment,” he said.
Kaniva College’s year eight students also participated in Planet Ark’s Schools Tree Day and planted more than 100 trees.
Planet Ark’s National Tree Day manager Debbie Agnew said Schools Tree Day encouraged students to spend time in nature and inspire positive environmental change.
“Schools Tree Day aims to connect children with nature and empower them to make a difference their local environment, community and school,” she said.
