Convener Iaian Fricker said the day involved a lot of hard work and each competitor showed enthusiasm throughout. He said the competition required competitors to install, test and commission an electrical installation to industry standards.
“From start to finish everyone gave it their best shot,” he said. “Even our youngest competitor Sam Bigham who had the least experience gave it a red hot shot.”
Mr Fricker said local companies CHS, Laser Electrical and Luvaduck supported the competition.
“It was great to see them embrace the competition and encourage their apprentices to get involved,” he said.
Electrical apprentice Corey Mann said the competition was a lot of hard work, but a great learning experience.
A winner, to be announced on September 20 in Ballarat, will progress to the national level.
