Lois’s husband had been very ill and she became his carer for seven years before he moved to the Natimuk Nursing Home, where he continues to be well cared for. We hope this time round will be a pleasant and less stressful time.
Marion Seater reported on the success of the recent lunch at the Natimuk Hotel, where 42 ladies enjoyed good food, fellowship and a visit to the local craft shop for some goodies before heading for home.
On August 6, 23 members plus some husbands joined the appreciative audience at Wesley Performing Arts Centre for a pleasant Sunday afternoon with flutist Mark Shiell and Nick Shirrif, master of the piano and talented composer, and Charlotte Kube, celloist, only 17 years of age. On September 12, members will join the Belmont club on their round trip visiting the silos and enjoying lunch at Patchewollock back home to Horsham.
A movie afternoon will be held on Thursday, September 21. See Victoria and Abdul starring Dame Judy Dench, $10 per head, with coffee at Chick Pea to follow. Names to be given by next meeting please.
Members also enjoyed a fashion parade, courtesy of Maria da Ros, with a big thank you to Lydia who generously gave four vouchers as lucky door prizes. Next meeting, Bree Boag – community hearing advisor from Australian Hearing – will be our speaker. First Monday in September, 9.45 for 10am.
Congratulations to Margaret and Allan Woodford on their 57th wedding anniversary and Agnes Seater, 90 years young as well as our other August birthday girls.
