The event aims to showcase regional produce and help build the Wimmera brand.
The town’s first festival – a three-day event in August last year – attracted people from across the state, and featured cooking demonstrations and a six-course dinner.
It won Hindmarsh Shire’s community event of the year award on Australia Day this year.
Festival organiser Mary Clarke said the event would take a year off this year before returning in May next year.
“We will run it on the Wimmera Football League interleague weekend,” she said.
“We haven’t got the date for that yet, and the league won’t know until October or November.
“Nevertheless we're starting our planning, and as soon as the date comes out we'll update information on our website.
“We're in the process of planning our events, and by November we should have a clear picture of what's on offer.
“We hope to have tickets available by the end of this year.”
Ms Clarke said people could visit www.dimboolafoodfestival.com.au for more information.
