Emmalee Thomas, Paige Sanders and Darcie Landrigan defeated teams from Mt Gambier, Hamilton and Warrnambool to win the Jenkin Shield.
Horsham Association president Jeff Pekin said it was good to see the girls do well.
“The girls and the boys were working hard two or three times a week with Jan Tucker in the lead up to the competition,” he said.
“We thought they would do well.
“I’m pretty sure the girls are all young enough to defend the shield next year if they are available.”
The team was one of four sent to the annual inter-town shield event.
Leon Forrest, Dillon Emmerson and Chris Hopper fought hard for the Donahue shield in the men’s competition but came up short against Warrnambool to finish second.
Jenny Blakeley, Rachael Chivell and Lia Landrigan competed for the Beaurepaire shield in the ladies division.
Chivell and Lia Landrigan were each representing Horsham for the first time and it was a tough day for the ladies. The team lost all three of its matches but still enjoyed the experience.
Lewis Thomas, Connor Chivell and Hamish Johns finished second in the boy’s Farnden shield.
The team defeated Hamilton and Mt Gambier but lost a tight contest against Warrnambool 6-5.
