Club treasurer Roger Clark said there were 320 entries for the event at Horsham Showgrounds.
“We had a show earlier this year, but we have been running an annual show at this time of year for a while,” he said.
“We have two shows a year at the showgrounds.
“Exhibitors will be coming from all parts of Victoria and South Australia, and possibly NSW.”
Mr Clark said entries included large fowl bantams, and ducks.
He said rosecombs – a type of bantam chicken – were the feature breed for the show.
“We try to entice people to show that particular breed,” he said.
“Rosecombs used to be predominantly black, but now you can get them in other colours.”
Mr Clark said rosecombs were true bantams, which meant they were not miniaturised versions of larger fowls.
He said the show would include junior exhibits.
“People are free to come and browse, and we will also have a barbecue lunch,” he said.
“It’s a good day.”
Mr Clark said judging would start at 10.30am, and the show would run until about 2.30pm.
