Both teams are out of finals contention but the Eagles will be keen to add another win to their tally following a season in which clear development of the squad was evident.
Eagles coach Brian Jenkins would be proud of the effort from his team with the number of one-sided games reduced this year compared to past years.
Despite that, the Eagles will give themselves a chance of causing an upset and notch up their third win of the 2017 season.
Great Western will face Glenthompson-Dunkeld at Glenthompson on Saturday.
A win will lift the Lions off the bottom of the ladder, leaving them with two victories from the season. The Lions are coming off a loss to Wickliffe-Lake Bolac in round 16 and will be keen to finish the season with a win.
The two round 17 games are scheduled for a 2.15pm start.
