With three unpredictable games to settle the final five positions, Lismore-Derrinallum is favoured to be minor premiers with a victory against SMW Rovers.
Penshurst has to lose to Woorndoo-Mortlake which is unlikely to provide SMW Rovers any chance for finals.
The game at Tatyoon against second-placed Moyston-Willaura is a game Tatyoon must win to avoid dropping from third to possibly fifth hinging on percentages.
Last week’s drubbing by the Demons highlighted the numerous cracks in Tatyoon’s backline with the Demons kicking 21 goals to the Hawks three after the first quarter.
This should create concern going into a final series.
When the final siren sounds this weekend, 334 footballers and 259 netballers pack their bags until next season, spreading to many parts of the state awaiting next seasons training to commence.
A number will retire while others will transfer and recruiters will be looking outside the league to fill the spaces for continuation of a clubs future participation.
To players leaving the game of both genders through age, education or employment out of the district, all clubs, supporters and the league thank you for your participation to community football or netball and your experiences gained remembered well into the future.
The reserve grade has SMW Rovers at top of the ladder, unbeaten thus far and the minor premier and maybe champions for 2017.
To the other four teams, the old saying is you have to only beat them once and that is grand final day.
Wickliffe-Lake Bolac, Glenthompson-Dunkeld, Lismore-Derrinallum and Moyston-Willaura make up the five at present.
Woorndoo-Mortlake are equal on points with the Pumas but has a miserable percentage.
The under-16.5 ladder has Moyston-Willaura as minor premier with an unbeaten record, along with Great Western, Penshurst, Hawkesdale-Macarthur and Glenthompson-Dunkeld making up the other finals spots.
Should Moyston-Willaura remain in the reserves five after Saturday they become the only club to have a side remaining in each grade of the final series.
The goal kicking award goes right down to the wire in a tight contest decided in the final round with Demon Ryan Elliot and Patrick Sinnot of Hawkesdale-Macarthur both locked on 69 goals.
Tips: Ararat Eagles v Hawkesdale-Macarthur, Wickliffe-Lake Bolac v Caramut, Glenthompson-Dunkeld v Great Western, Tatyoon v Moyston-Willaura, Woorndoo-Mortlake v Penshurst, Lismore-Derrinallum V SMW Rovers.
