Another top-line night of greyhound racing was conducted on Tuesday night at Horsham, with track records falling three times over the course of the meeting.

First to lower the clock was Kokoda Dreaming for Rod Millington, of Red Cliffs, over the 410m.
Beginning from a wide draw, the black dog flew the start to clearly lead at the first sectional and continued his sustained speed to record 23.341, just .005 quicker than the record set the previous week by Paua To Avoid.
Track records fell three times over the course of the meeting.

Then it was the turn of Crash Cobra, who had set the mark the previous week from the 485m start.
The lightly raced dog from the Anthony Azzopardi kennel bettered his time of 27.293 by just .005 to post 27.288 and in doing so confirmed to his connections his credentials for the upcoming Speed Star at Sandown Greyhounds in the coming weeks.
However, they couldn’t boast for long as the very next race, which featured seven runners with combined earnings of about $600,000, saw exciting youngster Jimmy Newob fly around the Horsham course in 27.179 seconds.
Also trained at Red Cliffs, near Mildura, by Barry Fullerton, the Horsham Greyhound Racing Club can claim two local track records as we are the closest Victorian track for trainers around the Mildura region and all are great supporters of our track.
The win takes Jimmy Newob beyond $100,000 in prize money from his 25 starts and he has only missed a place four times in his short career.
Horsham’s Bill and Helen Hartigan also tasted success, with Al’s Luck in a mixed grade 6/7 over the 410m.
After beginning slowly and trailing the field to the home turn, Al’s Luck managed to take a gap and then storm down the outside to claim the leaders right on the post for his second career win.
The Hartigan’s tasted success a couple of weeks ago with Lektra Oscar and with a promising team of young dogs coming through, shouldn’t have to wait too long for further wins.
Possibly as soon as tomorrow night when they present Avatar Flame and Avatar Vixen in race one, a maiden event from the 410m, both realistic chances on exposed form and recent trials.
It is one of 12 races beginning at 5.30pm.
The program also features a damsel dash for bitches restricted to a maximum four wins and grade five heats over 410m.
