The camp chooses the most elite under-14 boys and girls from the Basketball Victoria Country Regional Academy Program to meet in Shepparton on September 27 to 29. Horsham’s Brody Pope, Olivia Brilliant, Jessie Lakin, Ryan Pfitzner, Eloise Wills, Jude Kilpatrick and Ella Amos have all earned selection.
The best players at the camp will go on to participate in the 2018 Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup and the 2018 Southern Cross Basketball Challenge.
Pope said the best thing about the camp was meeting new people.
“(The best thing I have learned) is probably the plays and stuff,” he said.
“All the coaches are from Basketball Victoria Country.”
Wills said seeing old friends from the Jambouree stage in the player pathway program was something she looks forward to.
Horsham association’s president Owen Hughan said the camp was a great opportunity for players.
