West Wimmera will recommend that the disease juvenile dermatomyositis be considered for the annual CWA Victoria Thanksgiving Fund recipient. A Horsham branch member has a granddaughter with this disease and much research needs to be done to find better management and treatment.

CWA history: November 1954; report in “The NEW COUNRY CRAFTS” magazine:
“Central Wimmera: group president, Mrs J. Westerland: There were 10 branches in this group, Beulah, Brim, Carron, Hopetoun, Lubeck, Minyip, Murtoa, Rupanyup, Warracknabeal, Willenabrina. Central Wimmera group is experiencing an eventful year. Two branches, Rupanyup and Carron (a settlement between Warracknabeal and Donald) have each celebrated their 21st birthdays. Most enjoyable parties were arranged for these important occasions.”
