Teacher Rachel McGennisken said the VCE media students learnt a great amount from Triple H presenters Jean Darnell and Phyllis Lavithis over the past five weeks.
The year 11 students were taught basic radio skills including voice variations, transitions, operating the radio panel and interviewing.
“Week by week the students have began taking ownership of the project and are now completing the one-hour show themselves,” Miss McGennisken said.
Student Tarnee Arch said the experience was rewarding. She said she never considered what went on behind the scenes.
“The experience has given me a lot of insight as to how radio operates, it’s not just talking to a microphone and playing music,” she said.
The student radio team included Jess Pretorius, Astra Macumber, Sarah Hadzig, Chiara Bottazzini, Tarnee Arch, Brittany Isaac, Ruby Hobbs, Taylor Fedke and Tomas Motton.
