The under-17s side made its first grand final appearance in the Kowree-Naracoorte-Tatiara Football League since 1998.
However, the young Cougars were not able to overcome a relentless Keith outfit.
Inaccuracy plagued the Crows in the first quarter, with the side managing seven minors. The Cougars had less shots at goal, but were more accurate, kicking 1.1.
However, Keith gained momentum in the second quarter, kicking five goals to Kaniva-Leeor’s one.
The Crows continued to dominate the second half of the match, while the Cougars struggled to keep up.
The final score was Kaniva-Leeor United 5.7 (37) to Keith 12.13 (85).
Blake Dodson was named best on ground for the Cougars.
Seniors
MINOR premier Mundulla couldn’t hold on to their winning form in the A Grade football on Saturday.
The Tigers were up against a strong Lucindale side, that hit the ground running and scored five majors in the first quarter.
The Roos led at each change, despite a last-minute comeback by Mundulla in the last quarter. The final score was Mundulla 9.13 (67) to Lucindale 12.9 (81).
Reserves
MUNDULLA won the reserves flag, beating Penola 11.6 (72) to 4.8 (32).
