From the first whistle the Burras hit the court hard.
Coach Kristy Davidson said the plan was to come out strongly in the first quarter.
“We knew it was hot and we knew people would get tired – but we just wanted to bring it home,” she said.
The first quarter ended with the Burras claiming a six-goal lead, 12 to six. The pursuit for a consistent lead followed them through to the second quarter, 17 to nine.
Davidson said the team's experience was its strength.
“The Saints were a young side and our experience ran over them a bit,” she said.
The third quarter had the Saints behind by nine goals, 24 to 15. The goals started to rack up for the Saints in the final quarter, but it was too late to close the gap.
The final scoreboard had the Burras flying away with the premiership, 42 to 30.
Minyip-Murtoa’s Janelle Petering was best on court.
