Rats assistant coach Jakki Gibson earned best on court honours in the 58-32 win.
“We played the way we have played all year – steady, smart netball,” she said.
“We kept our hands on the ball and respected possession and it got us over the line.”
The first quarter had the Eagles and Rats equal on 11 goals. Gibson said the team wanted to get off to a good start, but fell short in the first quarter.
“The Eagles are a strong team, but we had the confidence to push away if it was tight in the first half," she said.
At halftime the Rats had taken the lead, 28 to 17. Gibson said it was the second quarter that won her team the game. The Rats built a convincing lead for the remainder of the match, securing them the B Grade premiership title.
