The carnival brings indigenous communities from across Victoria together to compete in football and netball matches. Competitions ran across three age groups: under-17s, under-15s and under-12s.
Games were played at the Horsham City Oval, Horsham’s Coughlin Park, and the Horsham City Netball Courts.
Wimmera players competed as part of the Gulgurn Manja team, which also includes Hamilton, Ballarat, Warrnambool, Heywood and surrounding areas.
Gulgurn Manja won the under-17 football against Bunurong and was runner-up in under-12 football, losing out to Warma.
Ararat Rats forward Cori Corigan was named most valuable player in the under-17 grand final match.
Event organiser Chris Harrison said the event went well, and he loved seeing families at the carnival that did not always have strong community involvement.
