The charging station, located behind Target, is a temporary charging station.
Tesla driver Brad Clark said the temporary charger would remain until a permanent charging station was developed in the allotment of land.
“Once there is a permanent station, there will be streams of cars travelling long distance coming through the town,” he said.
Mr Clark said a permanent charging station would be beneficial.
“It takes 30 minutes to charge the car,” he said.
“Vendors will benefit because we are able to plug in the cable and come back after 30 minutes with food and coffee.”
Mr Clark said he was driving from Ballan to Hornsdale, SA, for a battery farm unveiling from Elon Musk.
He said Tesla had switched on chargers all the way to Hornsdale.
