TWO Wimmera-Mallee teams were also in action in the Access All Abilities divisions of the state titles at Werribee on Sunday.

The teams were largely made up of regular Wimmera Whippets players but players from the Grampians Girants, Navarre and Ballarat also joined the team for the titles.
The championship team had two wins a draw and three losses for the day which had them finish 5th out of 8 teams. Newcomers Gena Hannett from Navarre and Anna Leighton from Ballarat both played extremely well in best players for the day. Josh Barry was named best in the championship team.
The reserve division team had two wins and four losses. The best players for the day were Ben Anton, Elise Pierce and Jess Sorrell.
Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly Access All Abilities program manager Matt Berry thanked Lateesha Gascoyne for her effort coaching the team all season. “The group gravitated towards her and she got them to a level we hadn’t seen before,” he said.
