Centre for Participation volunteer program manger Stephanie Thomson said the first workshop would assist volunteers involved organisations to understand the contributions volunteers make. 

“To run a volunteer-based organisation you need funding and unless you know what impact they will have you will struggle to obtain the funding required,” she said. Ms Thomson said the second workshop focused on developing meaningful roles for volunteers. 

“This workshop encourages organisations to understand what drives and motivates volunteers to make sure the roles they perform are interesting and reflect their passions,” she said. 

Ms Thomson encouraged organisations with a volunteer base to attend the workshops. 

“We believe organisations would benefit greatly from both workshops,” she said.
