The club had its annual general meeting on October 11 and the votes were tied between Brent Tough and Tammy McDonald.
The club’s constitution states that if the votes are tied after two rounds of voting, the decision will be made by a coin flip.
McDonald has been at the club for her entire life.
Her great grandfather was one of the founding club members.
Her previous roles include junior and senior coach and umpiring along with serving in several positions on the committee and board.
She takes the reins from Tough.
McDonald said she believed it was the right time for her to take on the role.
“I thought it was the right time to step up and help the club go in the right direction,” she said.
“Over the years the club has been really moving in a positive direction.
“The club has developed a strategic plan and now my goal will be to implement that plan.
“We know everything won’t happen immediately.”
McDonald said she wanted to build on the already established family friendly focus at the club.
“The children are the future of the club and we want to continue to help in their development,” she said.
“It’s about building a successful club as a whole.”
Tough is now the vice-president of the club.
“Toughy did an amazing job. He (will) … provide some consistency,” McDonald said.
