THE Wimmera Mail-Times is doing a weekly question and answer profile with the junior tennis players in the Central Wimmera Tennis Association.

This week the profile is on Marli Pymer of Central Park.

Q: What club do you play for?

A: Central Park.

Q: How old are you?

A: 11.

Q: What section do you play for?

A: Section 1 girls.

Q: How long have you been playing for?

A: This is my fourth year playing competition but I have been doing coaching for a long time.

Q: How did you start playing?

A: Well I suppose, nearly everyone in my family are tennis players so I suppose they just kind of got me into it.

Q: What is the best thing about tennis?

A: Everything! Seeing the improvement, seeing from how you hit it when you were little to now, because I reckon it is one of the sports you improve most in, because you change a lot.

Q: What is your best shot?

A: My backhand.

Q: What is your favourite tennis memory?

A: Going to the Australian Open and getting my favourite player’s signature.

Q: Who is your favourite tennis player and why?

A: Stan Wawrinka. I have no idea actually, he’s just my favourite player. He’s got one of the best backhands in tennis too.
