Travellers from South Australia dominated the winners’ lists.
Horsham Croquet Club president Rae Hill said it was fantastic.
“The 22 people from South Australia were blown away with it,” she said.
“They came to play and were in awe. They have already started putting their names down for next year… I hadn’t even thought about that yet.”
There were 71 participants in total at the tournament.
“There were very good players involved in the tournament, from one end of the spectrum to another,” Hill said. On Wednesday the division one winner of the Hi-Lo Doubles was Peter Donovan of Wonthaggi.
The division two winner was Julie Weaver of Hyde Park, South Australia and the division three winner was Pat Smith of Ballarat.
The singles competition was played out on Thursday with the block one-two winner being David Chapman of Hyde Park.
Block three-four winner was Owen Dickinson of Essendon while Fay Harrison of Drysdale took out the win for block five-six.
Marylin Smith of Victor Harbour, South Australia was the block seven winner.
The handicap doubles were played on Friday to round out the tournament.
Jim and Val Saunders were the winners of block one.
Margaret Pope and Glenn Price of Horsham won block two, Anne and Andrew Larpent of the United Kingdom won block three.
Les Matthews and John Jones of Drysdale were the block four winners.
