We are forced to sell our farm products at 1970 prices and forced to endure 2017 expenses.
In 1970 we were paying around 20 cents a gallon for fuel, now we pay around $1.36 a litre.
In 1970, I bought a 120 hp tractor for $6000, now you would not get change out of $100,000.
On these figures, we should be getting well over $350 a tonne for our cereals - try buying a loaf of bread for 20 cents now.
