THE Horsham Cup is back and that means another year of Fashion on the Fields for the annual horse race meeting.

Fashion on the Fields organiser Lisa Inkster said registrations begin at 1pm.
“Everyone will be competing after the Maiden 1100 metre race at 1.35pm,” she said.
There are three new categories for children this year with an under-5, under-13 and 14 and over category.
Couple of the Day, Gent of the Day and Lady of the Day are also being run.
The junior fashions winner is named at 2pm, Couple of the Day is named at 2.10pm, Gent of the Day is named at 2.45pm and Lady of the Day is named at 3.20pm.
Debbie Walsh of Earles Horsham said floral, free-flowing dresses are what people have been buying for the Horsham Cup in 2017.
“Elegant and fun but it depends on the person,” she said.
“There has been elegant vibrant florals and soft floaty floras bought for the cup.”
Walsh said blush shoes are in for the Horsham Cup.
“Accessorise wise, we have sold a lot of rose gold clutches,” she said.
“For the younger ages, jumpsuits and play suits have been popular with a similar floral pattern.”
Brian Curran, owner of Earles Horsham, said for the men, an easy-on-the-eye jacket with contrasting pants is in this spring racing season.
“As long as there is a contrast there. Underneath the jacket, a lovely slim fit shirt with a bit of colour,” he said.
“Adding a bow tie and a pocket handkerchief, the skinny tie is still popular but the bow tie is a point of difference.”
Curran said brown shoes are still in fashion along with a shorter chino, it displays loud socks or the ankle.
“If you are going to go into fashions on the fields the hat always helps,” he said.
Shana Miatke has been a judge at the Horsham Cup for five years and said 2017 is more relaxed to previous years.
“(We will be looking for) soft, flowy, floral prints. The head pieces have changed to more headbands and more structural pieces. The millinery has changed to a more refined look,” she said.
Miatke said there are no cut outs in dresses this year and lace has also made an appearance in stores in the region.
“For guys I would like to see some colour in the suits, there has been some pale blue suits and some really great mustard colours coming through,” she said.
“A nice finished look for men is what we will be looking for.
“If you can wear a traditional race day hat that always gives guys that edge.”
