The incident happened off the Western Highway and onto Serviceton North Road, near Kaniva.
Kaniva Senior Constable Adrian Hoggett said the man was lucky to come away from the incident with minor injuries.
“It could have been worse, the truck driver was distracted on the road and came off,” he said.
“This is a timely reminder to keep your eyes on the road and not allow anything to distract you.”
Senior Constable Hoggett also said it is a reminder to drive 40 kilometres an hour past stationary emergency service vehicles.
“The truck was a write-off and was towed away last night,” he said.
