The Dimboola Fishing Classic starts this Saturday, November 18.
This is a great competition, with some great prizes up for grabs for both seniors and juniors.
The river is fishing well so all is set for a great weekend of fishing.
Horsham Angling Club will hit the water at Lake Fyans, with a competition sponsored by A.T Waterfield & Son.
Start time is 6am this Saturday, with the competition finishing at noon on Sunday. Entries and weigh in will take place at the scout camp on the south side of the lake. Camping is available.
The Stawell and District Angling Club is celebrating 50 years of the club (1967-2017) this weekend.
Its competition will start at Lake Fyans at 6am, Saturday, November 18 and finish at 6pm, with weigh in and presentations to follow at 6.30pm.
Stawell, Horsham and St Albans members, plus members of the public, will be competing. All anglers must register before fishing.
Participants can register at the clubhouse tonight or from 6am Saturday morning.
Fishing Report
Lake Fyans: the redfin are a good size but you do have to work for them.
Horsham River: the river is fishing well at the showgrounds and at the weir.
Taylor’s Lake: fishing nicely, with yellow belly and cod on the go -just in time for the opening of the cod season on December 1.
Green Lake: the lake has started with redfin on the go slow but they are there and lots of carp too, yabbies are slow.
Walkers Lake: still fishing well with nice yellows and redfin off the bank.
Edenhope, Lake Wallace: fishing slow but has nice yabbies. Put nets in the middle and late at night.
