A bushfire was reported almost 10 kilometres north-east of Jeparit at 3.07pm today.

The fire was on private land and District 17 operations manager Alfred Mason said the indicating cause was a farmer burning off oat crops.
“The fire covered 20 acres, the equivalent of eight hectors,” he said.
The fire is under control.
Two bomber planes dropped two full loads on the fire, Mr Mason said.
“Three CFA appliances and four private appliances were on the scene,” he said.
The fire was on private property and hit some grass and scrub.
“Our services hit it hard and fast and it is under control,” Mr Mason said.
“It was a good response time.”
