Ben Martin and Jakob Davis will once again pull on the teal, black and white next year.
Both Martin and Davis played crucial roles in Swifts’ 2014 HDFL premiership victory. Martin, a premiership co-coach of the 2014 side, returns after a successful stint at Navarre.
The big forward is a strong acquisition for Swifts both on and off the field.
He will work as a junior development coach at North Park as well as playing in the senior team as a much needed tall forward.
Swifts coach Scott Carey said he is excited to have Martin back on board at the Baggies.
“He brings such great experience and we are rapt to have him back,” he said.
“He knows what it takes to create a winning culture, he has done it both here and at Navarre. “His ideas and guidance will be instrumental in continuing what we have put in place.”
Carey said Martin adds another dimension to the Baggies’ forward line.
“Ben is a bit taller and he will be perfect to take a bit of pressure off Andrew (Cameron),” he said.
Swifts also welcome back 2014 premiership defender Jakob Davis after two years with Beaufort. The 27-year-old returns to help strengthen Swifts’ backline.
Carey said Davis will be a perfect fit for the team.
“He is a handy lock down defender which we really needed. He can play one-on-one with all different types of players,” he said.
