In Section One Open the two top teams, both from Haven, came up against each other in an enticing clash.
Haven Black and Haven Green both won three sets apiece, with Black edging Green by just six games.
Haven’s junior co-ordinator Sue Exell said it was always a good match when the two Haven teams play against each other.
“It is always a good indication of where the teams are at when the Haven teams play each other,” she said.
Young gun Josh Freeman was missing for Haven Black with Romi Miller filling in.

“Romi won her doubles and took four games off Michael Lloyd so that was a good result,” Mrs Exell said.
“She did well stepping up for Josh.”
Haven Black were simply too strong in the doubles rubbers.
Romi Miller teamed up with Kyah Wilkinson to defeat Haven Green’s Josh Dunn and Michael Lloyd 6-3, while Miller and Connor Chivell also accounted for Dunn and Hettie French 6-2.
“Connor Chivell did well again, he is only quite young,” Mrs Exell said.
The round marks the half-way point of the season and Mrs Exell said she was pleased with how Haven’s juniors have fared so far this season.
“The juniors are going really well and it’s good for us to see them winning,” she said. “Some players have really improved a lot.”
In the other Section One Open matches both Central Park teams registered wins.
Central Park White won four sets and 29 games to defeat Natimuok who managed to take two sets and 20 games. Central Park Blue had a comfortable win against Horsham Lawn dropping just the one set for the match.
In the Section One girls the two Haven sides each came up against the Natimuk teams, with Natimuk recording two close wins.
Natimuk Blue defeated Haven Pink by four sets and 31 games to two sets and 22 games. Natimuk Gold had the better of Haven Purple, winning four sets and 25 games to Purple’s four sets and 22 games.
Abby Hallam’s 6-0 set win over Natimuk Gold’s Alisha Matheson was a highlight for Haven Purple.
Elsewhere, Central Park crushed Quantong Red, winning all six sets and dropping just seven games. It was Central Park’s third win of the season.
Quantong Black forfeited their match against Horsham Lawn.
