Leading Senior Constable Kelly Harris said six E-bikes were reported with punctured tyres on Sunday afternoon.
She said thumb tacks had been scattered on the shared walking and riding path between Tandara Road and Lake Bellfield in the south of Halls Gap.
“There is a risk of people standing on them, it is dangerous,” she said.
Leading Senior Constable Harris said anyone with information on who scattered the thumb tacks should call Halls Gap police on 5356 4411.
