The regiona; boundaries were redrawn in 2012, in line with local government areas to combine several regions including the Wimmera.
As part of the restructure, the Grampians became a very large region to encompass Guide units from Kaniva through to Bacchus Marsh.
From 2018, the region will be split to encompass the Wimmera and Central Highlands regions.
Marion Smith and Marianne Gilbert will now share the role of Wimmera region manager for the next year.
Mrs Smith said the pair would then look for someone to take over the role.
“The person would not necessarily need to have Guides experience, just someone with a management background and an interest in seeing girls develop and grow into confident and responsible community members,” she said.
Events planned for Wimmera Guide units next year include a ‘thinking day’ event on February 24 and a camp in April.
Both events will be at Dimboola.
