A Horsham man was surprised to find one of his tomatoes – the first he has picked for the season – resembling several cherry tomatoes growing off each other.
The rest of the plant’s fruit remains green and unripe.
The man’s wife brought the unusual find into the Wimmera Mail-Times office.
She was amazed by the shape of it.
“He brought it into me and said, ‘Look at this’,” the woman said.
“He didn’t even see the tomato when he first looked because it was at the very bottom of the bush.
“I call it the pick of the bunch. I think it might be one of the roma tomatoes but I’m not sure.”
The woman said the couple would use the tomato in a meal once it ripened a little more.
