Brunswick's Christopher Jones fined for criminal damage at Green Lake

A BRUNSWICK man has been fined for spraying graffiti on a toilet block at Green Lake near Horsham.

Christopher Michael Jones, 28, appeared in Horsham Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, where he pleaded guilty to criminal damage.

The court heard that Jones spray painted a toilet block at the lake on October 21 at 10.20am.

Witnesses reported Jones’ vehicle registration to police and officers intercepted Jones later that day, where they found six aerosol cans in his car.

Jones told police he was bored and wanted to leave his mark.

Magistrate Mark Stratmann said Jones was too old to be taqging public spaces. 

He fined Jones $500 without conviction and ordered him to pay $176 to Horsham Rural City Council for the damage.
