The year one and two students gathered lollies, magazines, toiletries and magazines to send as Christmas care packages.
Project coordinator Susan McKenry said the students collected enough presents to make eight care packages.
She said the boxes contained all the Australian favourites including Tim Tams, Anzac biscuits and Minties.
“The students have been really excited about the project and were eager to bring things in,” she said.
Mrs McKenry said she hoped the project will continue next year with more students involved.
“It really makes the students think about others who do not get to spend Christmas with their families.”
The students also wrote letters to the Australian soldiers.
Horsham West Primary School student Zara Schmidt said she wrote a letter wishing the soldiers a very merry Christmas.
“I thanked them for keeping our beautiful country safe and that I appreciate everything they do for us over Christmas,” she said.
