Wimmera people donated the items in October and November as part of the national initiative The Nappy Collective.
The project started in 2013 and runs twice a year in 44 towns and cities across the country.
Wimmera midwife Michelle Coutts was motivated to join the initiative after seeing many families in crisis through her work.
She collected 1750 nappies during the most recent collection period, while a collection point at Member for Lowan Emma Kealy’s Horsham office generated 544 donations.
The nappies will be distributed through community organisations.
Ms Kealy said she was amazed with the level of support for the project.
“The 544 unused nappies collected through my office will be distributed locally to support victims of domestic violence and young mothers in need”, she said.
“You don’t have to have a supply of unused nappies on hand to make a contribution – monetary donations are welcome or some people have actually purchased new nappies to support this worthy cause.
“I encourage all local residents to consider getting involved when the project runs again in May next year.”
