1. Excitement surrounds Female Football League in Wimmera
May, 2017: The Horsham Demons, Stawell Warriors and Horsham Saints were all in action on Saturday but the sides looked a little different for round one of the Deakin University Female Football League.

2. Horsham Sports and Community Club allocates grants
July, 2017: Wimmera football and netball groups were among the recipients at the 2017 Horsham Sports and Community Club grants day on Sunday.

3. The final siren for Schultz
July, 2017: A long-standing regional football icon has hung up the boots.
Kalkee’s Steve Schultz called time on a decorated career midway through the Horsham District league season, citing body soreness.
The retirement of Schultz made big news across the Wimmera – he was a Dellar medallist three times, a Toohey medallist, a Bob Templeton medallist, a Victoria Country Football League State Team member, part of the All Australian Country Team in 2008 and 2010 and also a Kalkee senior hall of famer to list just a few.

4. Horsham District interleague squad announced
April, 2017: Horsham District Football and Netball League announced a shortlist for its senior football interleague squad on Thursday.

5. Saints run over the top of hapless Roos
April, 2017: A thumping win by the Horsham Saints saw the side open its account for the season on Sunday.
It was a big 62-point win but people were happy to have footy back for another year. Re-live the round one game here.
6. Carter House win athletics carnival at Horsham West
March, 2017: Horsham West Primary School students spent Tuesday and Wednesday representing their houses in the school’s athletics carnival.

7. Demons control game to start with win
April, 2017: The Horsham Demons have outclassed cross town Wimmera Football League rivals the Horsham Saints for a second derby in a row to get their season off on the right foot.
The derby is always big in the Wimmera and this year was no exception. See all the action from the day here.
8. Horsham Saints claim the glory
September, 2017: Horsham Saints have won their first A Grade grand final since 2004. The Saints claimed Wimmera Netball Association premiership glory after defeating Minyip-Murtoa by one goal, 48 to 47.

9. Billy returns to star in premiership win
September, 2017: Half-way through the season Billy Lloyd returned to his home club at the Horsham Demons for a variety of reasons. One of those reasons was to be able to play alongside younger brother Matty. Now the pair have premiership medals draped around their necks.

10. Campbell Gray wins Horsham Triathlon
February, 2017: Campbell Gray, 16, won the 2017 Horsham Triathlon after a fierce battle with his father Steven on Saturday.
