Horsham Tidy Towns chairwoman Gillian Vanderwaal said the initiative was a great success with the reusable shopping bags available in various shops in the central business district.
She said boomerang bags are now available at Horsham Disposals, Redrocks Books and Gallery and Craft for a Cause.
Ms Vanderwaal said it would be great to see people using the reusable bags when they leave their own bags at home.
“With major supermarkets phasing out single use plastic bags, it is timely that Horsham has an alternative that will last for years to come,” she said.
Ms Vanderwaal said the project could not be a success without community members donating fabric and their time.
“It is because of their generosity that we are able to offer these bags to our community at no cost,” she said.
Ms Vanderwaal said anyone wanting to get involved could cal her on 0427 646 728 or Jess Kuhne on 0419 124 723.
